L’esprit des formes I, Elie Faure

This pocket book is part of a pocket booker collection published by Jean-Jacques Pauvert with over 50 different titles. Themes go from art history, art theory to architecture, with a broad variety of subjects.

The covers of the collection were designed by the studio of Pierre Faucheux and the interiors were done by Jeanine Fricker. I think the playfulness of both completely complement each other. Where Faucheux plays with the dynamism of the images in the cover to attract the reader, Fricker continues this dynamism inside, making what could be a very dense book, a book that surprises at a turn of a page.
